Boro - The Art of Japanese Patchwork with Phil Thomas

Regular price $90.00 $0.00

Create something intricate and beautiful using the Japanese Patchwork method known as Boro (meaning tatters or patchwork). Textile artist Phil Thomas will show you how to stitch a modern-day version of boro fabric using scraps and hand stitchery, which will then be used to create a small bag. Once learned, the technique can be used in many other sewing projects at home.

No previous patchwork skills are necessary

Phil Thomas is an award-winning quilter who has taught beginner and contemporary techniques over 25 years. She loves using photographic images to make portrait and landscape quilts, often using hand dyed fabrics in her work. An WAQA accredited teacher and judge, Phil will be working in residence and exhibiting her work in the upcoming stitched and bound exhibition.
