Intaglio Workshop | Term 4 | Matthew Perrin

Discover the art of drypoint etching in this immersive two-day workshop with WA artist and printmaker, Mathew Perrin. On day one, explore compositional techniques and master mark-making on polyethylene plates using drypoint needles. Day two focuses on inking and printing, where you'll learn to apply ink, wipe plates, and use a press to create unique prints. By the end, you'll have a completed drypoint etching and a solid understanding of the Intaglio process.

Materials

All materials provided. Participants are required to wear closed toed shoes. Students, please come prepared with 1-2 reference images on A4 paper. These can be 2D drawings, photographs, or even digitally composed images.
