Open Wheel Throwing with Greg Crowe
Build upon your fundamental wheel throwing skills in this six week course with renowned ceramicist Greg Crowe. This class is open to beginners as well as intermediate potters. Beginner’s will learn to use a pottery wheel and how to centre a ball of clay on the wheel in motion and form bowls, mugs or plates. Over the course of the series you will also learn to hand form and apply handles, trim, glaze and other decorative elements. Intermediate potters will learn to work with larger amounts of clay, creating more challenging forms as well as techniques for producing sets of ceramic vessels. There are only eight spots in this workshop, so be sure to book early to secure your place.
Greg has been an artist and educator for over 40 years, specialising in wheel throwing, salt glazing and wood firing stoneware. His exciting career has seen him exhibit and facilitate workshops all over the world, namely in the US, Canada, Japan, Singapore and Europe.
