Pit Firing with Narayani Palmer

Pit Firing with Narayani Palmer

Regular price $295.00 $0.00

Explore the oldest known ceramic firing method and produce exciting decorative pieces in this 3-part event with Country Connections artist Narayani Palmer. Part 1, held in Mundaring will cover basic hand building techniques to produce work for the pit. In part 2 and 3, held at Midland Junction Arts Centre, we will decorate the work, pack and light the "pit", before spending the evening beside the fire with dinner and wine. Meet again the following morning to empty the pit, clean the work and discuss the results.

Narayani Palmer's ceramics practice spans raku and pit/barrell firing, sgraffito, hand building and wheel throwing. She has exhibited across Western Australia and you can see her work as part of Country Connections at Mundaring Arts Centre until 19 June 2022.
