ABOUT THE ARTIST

Josi Svendsen is a graphic designer and self-taught artist who brings a modern twist to Impressionism. Her work aims to capture the people and environments around her, blending vivid colour with bold, expressive forms to highlight the beauty in everyday life.
Svendsen’s fascination with art began in primary school art classes where she was always amazed that with just a few brushstrokes or pencil lines the eye could be tricked into believing there was a three-dimensional object in front of you. During her TAFE studies, Svendsen fell in love with oil painting and the way the rich medium could be layered, blended, and manipulated to create depth, texture, and atmosphere.
