ABOUT THE ARTIST

With an affinity to travel and drawing, sketching and journalling, it was inevitable that Emily would stray from the computer-based format learnt in her graphic design degree, to a more tactile way to create art. Whist travelling and studying in Holland, Emily discovered and fell in love with the process of screen-printing and letterpress. After returning to Perth, this was the process in which her designs came to life, with makeshift home printing set ups. Emily started The Little Press whilst working as a freelance graphic designer, with art prints at local markets. Over the years it has become a successful business, working with clients all of the world, particularly for bespoke letterpress wedding stationery. The home printing set up has grown to a large warehouse studio space, with a team of vintage heavy presses.
