ABOUT THE ARTIST

Ana Maria was born in Colombia, a country which she believes has indirectly influenced the style and craftsmanship of each of the pieces she handcrafts. The diverse culture, landscapes, and local crafts of her country have influenced the way she creates and conceptualizes each of the accessories. Since her adolescence she began her self-discovery by creating jewellery, being self-taught she learned the art of creating handmade crafts with thread and took the first steps to know her style and the identity of her accessories. Currently Ana Maria resides in Perth- Australia where she begins a process of reinvention seeing from her ability to create handmade accessories an opportunity to show her talent through her small business Merana.
