Discover the art of crafting a lush shagpile fabric in this immersive three-hour knitting workshop. Experienced knitter Anne Williams will guide you to unravel the secrets of creating bespoke yarns from vibrant, natural fibres, including plant-dyed selections.  No advanced skills necessary, just bring your enthusiasm and a pair of 4.5 mm knitting needles (or your preferred circular needle). All yarn provided.

Artist Bio

Anne calls on skills gained from a lifetime of making across a wide range of textile techniques. She uses the crafts of knitting, crochet, hand stitching, spinning and plant dyeing to investigate their creative potential. 

She has had 2 solo and a duo exhibition, participated in many group shows, taught a variety of community workshops and has an occasional role in Waldorf/Steiner school teacher education. Anne has been Artist in Focus at MJAC (2019) and part of the Artist in Residency program for Stitched and Bound at MJAC in 2022 and 2024.
