ABOUT THE ARTIST
Neil Gray is self-taught, wood carver who has been hand carving wooden spoons and kitchenware for many years. Gray carves from ‘green wood’ found around the suburbs where he lives, such as pruned and wind fallen branches.
Gray finds the act of hand carving a calming, almost meditative, and creative experience. It involves a careful balance of attention, skill, and creative outlet.
