Abstract Fundamentals | Ric Burkitt
This workshop invites participants to explore the abstract genre with award winning painter, Ric Burkitt. Held in Ric’s light-filled home studio, these four-hour workshops welcome students to loosen up and explore the fundamentals of abstract painting.
Using acrylic paint, and a variety of tools and techniques, participants will add layers, scrape off paint, and rework to walk away with a complete artwork after just one session. Within this they will gain an understanding of the basic elements and principles of composition and colour theory. Suitable for all skill levels from beginner to experienced painters. Limited spots available.

Artist Bio
Ric is a full-time artist working in various styles and mediums from his studio in Stoneville. His current work includes mixed-media landscape and abstract paintings that capture the mood and feel of the countryside surrounding his home.
Ric has been teaching visual arts and graphic design for over twenty years. A regular facilitator at Tresillion Arts Centre and Mundaring Arts Centre Inc. he has built a joyous repour with students, welcoming them into a supportive and playful learning environment.
