Exhibition Talk | Weir On A High Place | Five Tides Collective
Join us for an intimate afternoon with the exhibiting artists of Five Tides Collective as each shares the stories behind their process, materials, and the moments that shaped their latest creative exploration.
For their latest exhibition, Weir on a High Place, Five Tides turned their collective and individual attention to Mundaring Weir, its engineering and mechanical feats, the natural environment that surrounds it, and the quiet, complex history held within the site. What connects them is a shared curiosity about place, and the many ways a single site can be witnessed, interpreted, and remade.
This is a chance to see how five distinct practices, histories, and sets of hands can gather around one place and find one tide.

COLLECTIVE BIO
Five Tides Collective is made up of five individual artists who come together from across Walyalup/Fremantle to explore one place, one tide, one shared response. Each artist carries a distinct heritage; Irish, Indonesian-Chinese, Palestinian-German, Australian, and Japanese, and works across a rich range of mediums, from ceramics and textiles to printmaking, painting, photography and mixed media. Though independent in practice, the five are connected by a shared passion for making, and by a commitment to nurturing and celebrating one another's creative journeys.
