Gel Plate Printing | Barbara van Gool
In this dynamic 3-hour workshop you will explore printing with a gel plate, using a range of transparent acrylic paint colours, hand cut masks/stencils and some plant material. Transparent colours will allow you to easily build up complex designs and colours. You will be taught simple registration techniques to assist with accurate placing of successive colour layers when making a multi-colour print. You will take home 6 or more unique vibrant layered prints and a new passion for gel plate printing.

Artist Bio
Renowned printmaker Barbara van Gool’s creative practice focuses on colour, composition and abstraction. She has exhibited and sold work both nationally and internationally and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) and a Post Graduate Diploma (Film and Television) from the Australian Film and Television School. Introduced to gel plate printing in 2019, Barbara immediately fell in love with the medium’s endless possibilities and has been sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm by teaching workshops since 2021.
