Explore realism in this 3-hour oil painting workshop. Experienced portrait artist and educator Rachelle Dusting will demonstrate her process, working from photograph references in a realistic manner. This workshop covers foundational elements of realism to build a 3D painting technique. You will develop your understanding and skills through a series of “painting sketches”; studies that form an enquiry into understanding tone, value and temperature.

Artist Bio:
Rachelle Dusting is a WA based fine artist and educator whose practice centres on portraiture, still life, and themes of beauty and identity. Through painting and drawing, she explores observation, presence, and the quiet emotional weight of everyday moments. Rachelle’s most recent exhibition Sacred Ground was held at Midland Junction Arts Centre earlier this year.
