In this 2-day professional development workshop with renowned ceramicist Bernard Kerr you will investigate the nature of glass and ceramic glazes to make both aesthetic and functional surfaces for your ceramics.

Over the 2 days you will

•    develop an understanding of the three major components of glazes.
•    discover how to manipulate mixtures and vary the proportions of components to achieve desired colours, surfaces and properties 
•     create a useful method for recording experimental results.
This workshop is ideal for intermediate to advanced ceramicists, lecturers, visual arts teachers and technicians.

Materials:
All materials and test tiles provided. Optional: bring your own mid-fired or stoneware bisque ware to glaze. 

Artist Bio:
Bernard Kerr has been influential in Western Australian ceramic arts practice for over 45 years. Producing both functional and sculptural work in stoneware and porcelain, Kerr is a prolific artist and educator whose works are featured in international publications and held in government, corporate and private collections.
