In this full day workshop, Fiona will guide you through the process of creating a four-corner basket. You will learn the technique of plaiting with watercolour paper, which has been tinted using natural earth pigments. The workshop will cover preparing the paper and combining this contemporary medium with traditional materials like rattan.

Fiona Gavino is one of Australia’s most innovative basket makers, utilising the medium to create sculptures, installations, videos, and prints. 
She has been teaching for over 15 years, her classes provide a fun and practical introduction to basketry that will allow students to continue sourcing and creating their own beautiful works well after the class is over.
