INTRO TO RELIEF PRINTMAKING | MATT PERRIN
Learn the foundations of relief printmaking with a focus on colour, layering, and process. Participants will carve and print a relief block (either lino or wood), exploring both press and hand-printing techniques.
In this one-day workshop, participants, led by exhibiting artist Matt Perrin carve and print a lino block while learning inking, basic registration, and colour layering using the etching press alongside hand-printing methods. Techniques discussed are transferable to woodblock printmaking.

ARTIST BIO
Matt Perrin is an artist and printmaker based in the Perth Hills, Western Australia. His practice centres on relief printmaking, exploring tone, texture, repetition, and colour through hand-carved and hand-printed processes inspired by local landscapes.
Perrin is an experienced secondary educator and workshop facilitator currently working in the Printmedia Department at Curtin University. He holds a Master of Arts (Fine Art) from Curtin University.
