KUMIHIMO BRAIDING WORKSHOP WITH THE PENCIL CASE ART STUDIO
Join artist and educator Anne Farrell from The Pencil Case Art Studio for an engaging creative workshop. In this 3-hour session, young artists will discover the beautiful Japanese art of Kumihimo braiding – a traditional technique used to embellish kimonos and ceremonial costumes.
Participants will learn how to weave their own colourful braids, transforming them into friendship bracelets, keychains, or decorative bag charms to take home and treasure.
Weaving is a rhythmic, meditative process that helps children focus, reduce anxiety, and build fine motor skills – making this workshop not only fun, but also a mindful and enriching experience.
